Yano Becomes An Ally To Ibushi!?
Friendships matter the most. Updates from Toru Yano and Kenny Omega.
This past week Kota Ibushi rocked the wrestling world with his tweets expressing frustrations and accusations towards New Japan Pro Wrestling, the home and company he works for.
Again, no confirmed statement from NJPW if Ibushi’s contractual agreement is officially done. Even with Ibushi’s decision to remove NJPW from his bio and replace his twitter header with a “retirement” sign he used back in 2016 to become a freelance wrestler, doesn’t confirm his departure in any way.
Ibushi tweeted out today. In the first tweet he asks for his mother to return. Is she alright? Where is she?
We get no further details except for the Japanese hashtags that reads:
I can talk a little now. Purely anxious.
I do know that his father passed away. Ibushi shared the lovely tribute he did for his father’s ashes after winning the dual championships of the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental titles. He placed the titles side by side of his father’s Urn.
Then in another tweet, Ibushi tweets about them.
Ibushi wants to fight till the end and won’t give in to those guys. Unconfirmed by Ibushi or NJPW management, Ibushi still feels strongly about letting the world know the frustrations he’s held in for so long.
The Japanese hashtags are:
One day you’ll know. Feelings don’t change.
There are no further updates about Ibushi at this moment of writing.
In shocking events, Toru Yano did a livestream via YouTube and many fans asked for his thoughts on the Kota Ibushi and NJPW situation.
Yano explains to the fans that he is an ally for Ibushi.
However, Yano mentions that while he supports Ibushi since they are friends and friends in CHAOS, Ibushi is still an individual and that this situation for Ibushi is a personal matter to resolve. Yano did praise Ibushi for his exceptional in-ring ability and all his accomplishments in NJPW.

In another turn of events, Kenny Omega - The Best Bout Machine - causally tweeted out in Japanese in relation to the Kota Ibushi situation right after Ibushi decided to delete all mentions of NJPW from his bio and changed his header.
Twitter wrestling fans think Kenny Omega’s tweet is about the possibility of having Ibushi at the Forbidden Door PPV on June 26th hosted by AEW x NJPW at the Staples Center in Chicago.
Here’s what we know about Ibushi:
Ibushi isn’t 100% to compete both psychically and mentally in any ring. Ibushi denied the surgery needed to completely fix his dislocated shoulder and start on a road to a faster healing process. On Feb 20, he posted this picture of himself on his newly created Instagram with a caption of:
Pretty [big] difference between the right and left shoulder!
I wonder if this is the reason why the pain won’t go away quiet yet.
Kota Ibushi’s frustration tweets don’t stem from not being included in events. If anything, visiting prior events helped motivate him to better healing on his road to recovery. Ibushi doesn’t like the mistreatment he’s been dealing with based off all his tweets that lead to his recent outburst.
Kenny Omega’s tweet does say enough without telling more than needed. In the last article I explained what the “retirement” sign meant. Kenny’s tweet is a soft acknowledgement - not confirmed by anyone as of yet - of Ibushi’s “retirement.”
It is unclear what Ibushi will do next. I still hope Ibushi and NJPW can resolve these issues.
