In this video post, I’m breaking down the match between Tama Tonga vs Jay White. This is a super important match in their story history.
Back in February 2022, Jay White decided to kick out Tama and his brother Loa from Bullet Club. The betrayal was real. My heart was broken. It hurt so much. When Tama and Loa came back to the NJPW, Bullet Club had a choice to make.
The betrayal happened during IMPACT Wrestling PPV No Surrender. This shocked the wrestling world…and broke my heart.
Then I came up with some theories.
9,000 miles away, Jay White sent word to Gedo and told him to tell Bullet Club to pick a side: Tama Tonga or Jay White. Everyone chose Jay White, and gladly beaten Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jado. All three were now gone from Bullet Club.
Since then, Tama, Loa, and Jado had to learn how to find a home again, find friends again. Luckly, Tanahashi, being the light and angel of NJPW, welcomed them to Hontai — Main Unit.
After many months being with Main Unit and fighting back against Bullet Club despite numbers, Tama Tonga has slowly built this calm presence about him when he fights. He’s in control. He may still have small emotions trickle out that may cause rash decisions when he wrestles, but for the most part he’s honing how to control his emotions.
Tama Tonga has learned how to fly again.
August 16th is a date for revenge. Does Tama take the victory? Does Jay White take the victory?
