What if I told you, that Sarah Logan (on the left) and Max The Impaler (on the right) can co-exist in wrestling?
For as long as wrestling has been around, everyone “copies” and “steals” from one another. Wrestling is such an art that this happens. It’s neither wrong or right and that’s not my stance on this.
My opinion on this is simple: An apocalyptic wrestling gimmick has a different story path than a Valhalla Viking Priestess wrestling gimmick.
However, the wrestling community would rather divide in women’s wrestling on this small problem than see what actually happens next week on WWE Smackdown.
To my knowledge, we created what an apocalyptic world and lore should/could be in the world of fictional creation. Viking culture is known, and we can research it, and often times romanticize it for fictional purposes. I didn’t know that apocalyptic and Viking happen to be the same thing when they aren’t.
These are the topics I touch on:
The difference between Viking and apocalyptic.
Roughly a week ago, we were united for women’s wrestling against NWA because they didn’t know how to book women for their show because the women didn’t have the NWA style & they couldn’t find women wrestlers. This weekend, the IWC was divided about women’s wrestling because of “look & copy” of gimmicks that was disguised as the community not liking Sarah Logan’s political views & what she does OUTSIDE OF WRESTLING which isn’t as grand or a huge problem as you’d think.
Malakai Black with House of Black in AEW has the same imagery and Malakai has his face painted with a multi-color eye contact just like Max and no one is upset.
This may not fit the narrative but the Internet Wrestling Community loves getting to shouting matches and I’m not sure who wins.
The main take-a-way from this is: MAX THE IMPALER WILL CONTIUNE TO GET BOOKINGS DESPITE SARAH LOGAN SHOWING UP ON WWE AS A VIKING PRIESTESS!
No one is going to go hungry in wrestling just because of “copying” because wrestlers and fans alike want to complain for the sake of complaining rather than upping their character’s lore/story, adding more layer, getting a sharper in-ring skill set, set up a vlog where we follow the character around in small skits so we can understand the lore more. Make it theater in the most practical way. We all have smartphones. You need a huge budget to keep YOUR wrestling alive.
